Demise

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

I've lost something dear lately, my T33 collapsed after 3 good years of service. The LCD display just turned dark, but it still displays info i.e ISO, battery life, focus, WB and etc.. it just seems that, its gone 'blind'. I think it might've something to do with its sensor.

Nevermind that.
I've been focussing on the more important things in my life recently : As a student.
With that said, do expect a long silence from me. But, I'll try and update when the time is appropriate.

Some photos taken before T33 passed away. Shot at KRP, during the stressful week of project completion and studying for tests. Models were involuntary, and I hope it captures the immense pressure felt by all of us towards the semester's end.

To my friends who are on the verge of assignment deadlines, final examinations, internship preparations, and etc.. My prayers are with you all.

Godspeed us all. And good luck.

End

Yup, the semester is nearing its end. I might not be able to post much, I'm being bogged down with projects, assignments and tests, as well as final exams preparations.

On another note, congrats to Prop d ace for finally getting your DSLR.
Here's an image variation of his original photo.

Keep shooting dude, pray that I'll follow your SLR footsteps one day. :D

The Six

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

I seldom play games. But when people pass me the ball. I play along. Oh well.
Farah tagged me.. so here goes. :)

Six weird things I think I have :

1) I love teddy bears. Now now, don't get me wrong.

2) I have minor Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD); I make sure my keys are in place, my wallet secured, my desk tidied, my laptop speakers and cellphone are muted, my pillows are 'arranged', and the list goes on before I sleep. It takes around 5 minutes.

3) I drink water a lot. Four 1.5litres bottles in approximately an hour.

4) I quit smoking in a matter of seconds. Now that's will-power!

5) I was ambidextrous when I was in kindergarten. I can write and draw with both hands. At least it used to be.

6) I am easily offended. My bad, still working on this one though. :(

I don't have anyone to tag at the moment. Feel free to assume you're tagged. ;p

Mundane Monday

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

I hate mondays. I've shitty lab classes at 8am. But fret not, this is THE last week of lab assignments. No more after this.. at least for this semester though. And I'm lucky that my group doesn't have to complete the dreaded Solid Mechanics assignment or worst.. a visit to the Thermodynamics lab. Thank God. :)

Ah, another two-posts-per-day today. I've hit a wall a while ago. Not literally though, I met a dead end in my design process. I just.. don't know where to start.

Fatigue

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

It seems like I have a lot of free time lately. No engineering test for the mean time, and no immediate project deadline. I used up most of the free time thinking though.
Yup, the projects this semester ain't easy no more, and I'm chosen as the team's 'captain'. *sheesshh~* With that said, I have passive teammates.. who need constant motivation to do their work.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Although I don't work much, I feel tired. I don't know why.. maybe it has something to do with brain activity. ;p
And I don't feel well either. Maybe old age really did catch up on me.

My pet cat murdered a rat lately. It was beheaded. Needless to say, a job well done.
I only discovered later in the morning, that she dismembered the rat's body to shreds of intestine and rat limbs.

I lack enjoyment and relaxation in life lately. And days were spent Solid-whoring using the unholy yet 'easier-than-autocad' SolidWorks. And I've SolidWorks 2007 installed just now, for reasons I myself is unclear of. Though I think it has something to do with solid modelling animation.

Thanks to Farah for the valuable piece of advice on friendster. I'm somewhat pacified now.. and much 'cooler' than yesterday.
And also thanks to Firdaus a.k.a Abott of Automotive Engineering for being a good listener.

Thank you~

Tebrau City

Last saturday, I went to Jusco Tebrau City with Yus. After some friendly misunderstanding, we decided to layan the new bloody movie 300.
I found it quite good. Although it has a very linear storyline, it delivers what the target audience want: Blood, gore and nudity action.
As it was already 6+pm when the movie finished, I decided to hang around a bit longer and took pics. Most of the pics taken were handheld, so blur is a must. Only managed to salvage a few pics. :(

The good thing living down south though, is that you'll see exotic cars by the dozens daily. I think malaysian people boleh tahan kiasu competitive when it comes to rivalling our singaporean neighbours, in terms of showing off their rides.

On the way home, a jet black singaporean 350Z with full bodykit whizzed past me, and later a yellow johorian Evo 9. :D

Yup, I'm taking a break today. Skipped english in the morning.
Just another friday.. until.. in the afternoon. I've just refuelled and was about to exit petronas. When I saw a red sports car.. hmm, might be a Ferrari I thought. But as it draws nearer, I can hear familiar VTEC-ish noise. Oho~!

Its a Honda NSX.

A 3.2 litre V6 JDM machine, rivalling even the notoriety of Supras and Skylines alike. Not many in Malaysia though. :)

The Stress-Strain Relationship

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

I've spent 3 years of my life doing mechanical engineering, and there's one more year left before graduation. Looking back, there are some things that I've regret doing, friendships lost, relationships broken, and many more. But along the way, I've matured. I've learned a lot. And its worth the sacrifice I made.
There seems to be something that bugs me for quite some time. Yeah. Its been hell of a while. Its about effort. You see, I'm not clever.. and far from being gifted. It takes me 2 hours to study a chapter, while others can do it in 1 hour. But the thing is, I work hard. I don't play at all, and that makes me a very dull person. My life revolves around my work. And my work only. I've to admit, sometimes I do feel jealous for my peers that seem to take life easy and performing quite well in their studies. I am jealous, because I don't seem to have enough time for everything.. but they on the other hand, are enjoying life at its fullest. Although I perform better, but its not that significant.. its like I get 3.55 and they get 3.47 for cgpa.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Sometimes, it made me question God's work and His great plan.. although I know I shouldn't. I wish I have the freedom of doing what I like. Sometimes, I do cry at night in bed. My life is hard, and it is so because I chose it that way. I cry because I couldn't change.. I'm destined to be a hard worker. It just doesn't seem fair, for some to achieve so greatly with such little effort.. while people like me walked through hell and back. Its not fair when you have to go through 4 levels of job interview, while others get their job because of 'connections'. Its not fair.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Though I always keep in mind, that hard work will pay off someday.. at least that's what I do to keep myself contented. I've seen people who work so hard, just to experience failure in the end. And for some weird reason, I feel that I'm destined to live life that way.

Hence, my blog's title : Attempting the Impossible.

Its like I want to go against all things destined for me. And to be successful in the end, to be able to say : "Look, this is what I get after years of pure hard work."
I don't believe in working smart only. People who only work smart, are lazy. They don't work hard, and I believe that we only get what we worked for.
But all that is about to change.. on wednesday the 7th, I did an awfully stupid and careless mistake during my component design test. I didn't look carefully at the weld sign, and that has cost me very dearly. Nearly half of my marks are gone. I might get a maximum score of 50%, and only if my first question is 100% correct.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

*A typical welding design problem*

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

*And I chose no. 4, while its actually weld type no. 5!!!!*

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

*An example of an optional bolt design question*

After that incident, I began questioning myself. For all the effort that I've put up.. was gone in a split second. The more jovial and relaxed type of student however, answered it correctly.. and with little problem.

Was this God's judgement on me? I don't know.

*sigh*
anyway, time for some lousy picture break.

Sometimes

I feel like writing more than one post per day. Today happens to be one. I'm having a slight fever with minor sore throat. And also, I'm taking a breather from the hectic week. There'll be open interviews for UTM students tomorrow till monday. All the big players are there, including the much sought-after Schlumberger. I haven't decided whether to go or not. Need rest. As there is a test next week.

These are sunset pics. Taken from the areas around my Taman. Some of them on the same day, some are not. They are all taken hand held, and may contain slight vibration. Comments are appreciated.
*Cheers*
